The Polska Eire Festival in Kilkenny was once again a great success for the Integration of the Polish and Irish communities. The event organiser Ania Adamowska was the lead on the planning and she put together a wonderful and vast array of Family friendly events.
Orchard House Kilkenny was this years host venue as the Family day, Arts and Crafts , Intercultural Arts and Music evening organised with the help of Kilkenny’s fore most musician and Musical director of the world renowned show performed by the CELTIC CRY CREW. John Managed to get a top class group of 15 traditional Irish musicians to give an exhibition of the Irish music and folk traditions and history to and enthralled audience of all cultures.
This year saw the introduction of the Polska Eire Integration cup. The competition played on the Afternoon of the Saturday saw teams from Portugal, Latvia, Poland, South Sudan, Uganda , N.Ireland and the eventual winners Eire who defeated Portugal in a trilling final with League Of Ireland player Eoin McCormack netting the winner with just seconds remaining on the clock.
Mr. Piotr Rakowski deputy Head of missions presented the Ford Motor Company Cup to the winners a cup which was last played for n 1966 and has been in storage since waiting for a worthy competition to carry the honour of holding this prestige quality Cup
