Twilight group and its new French Connection

November 17th saw the arrival of Dany Hella and Stéphanie Schoreel Dauzat from the Twinning committee of Margny-lès-Compiègne France . First port of call was the French Embassy where the Twilight Group Representatives meet with Marc Dumas and other staff members. After a short chat and some light refreshments Philip Brennan ( Overseas Development Officer ) and Louise Bourke (Assistant General Manager) presented the embassy with some gifts to celebrate our visit.

Then the two groups went to the Poitin Still on the Nass rd and met with the Mayor of Kilkenny Michael Doyle who welcome our guests to Ireland and the Medieval City of Kilkenny

When ladies get together shopping is never to far from their agenda and this group are no different. So Ania Adamowska and Louise Bourke  and the two visitors set of for an evening shopping in Kilkenny City

That evening they met with the other members of the Twilight Group and Mr Seamus Brennan the School teacher who was on the Twilights ” Connect the World” trip to Malbork with the CBS Choir for the Signing of the Twinning agreement between Malbork and Kilkenny city which the Twilight Group and the then Mayor Patrick O’Neill the driving force behind this excellent Twinning which is community based.

Saturday morning the groups travelled to the wonderful Woodstock gardens and got a guided tour around the gardens which is becoming a major tourist attraction n the region. after a wonderful lunch served up by the Corner House in Bennets bridge it was on to meet the now deputy Mayor Patrick O Neill who showed the ladies around City Hall and then the Medieval mile Museum which is a major attraction on the Ancient East Irish Trail.

That evening it was of to the Orchard House where the staff served up a wonderful dinner so a big thank you to Sean, Amanda and John and his staff. Both parties then signed a friendship agreement where both groups will now explore the areas where both regions will now be able to network and build a strong and vibrant relationship Dany and Stephien signed the agreement on behalf of   Margny-lès-Compiègne and Louise Bourke and Philip Brennan signed on behalf of the Twilight Community Group.

This was a wonderful weekend when new friends were made by all . With this new connection it will now be possible to research the possibility that we can now develop together based on agreed objectives using the Twilight Protocols Sector of Interest as a guideline. It was a great success and big Thank you must go to all who made this visit  success , the members of the Twilight community Group, Orchard House , Corner House in Bennetts bridge and Deputy Mayor Mr Patrick O Neill and to our wonderful guest who were excellent ambassadors for Margny-lès-Compiègne.
