Mr John Coonan.
Mr Coonan is a retired nurse and a prominent member of the community of Kilkenny having served his Community as a councillor on the Kilkenny Local Authority and was Deputy Mayor during his term of office.
John is the Chairperson of the Kilkenny Seniors forum and Kilkenny Age Alliance also represents the Group on the National Age Friendly association of Ireland . He is also very active in the building off Kilkenny as a city that is great to grow old in . He continues to work within the HSE network of Patient Participation Networks and the ST Luke’s Hospital Steering groups whose aim is to Make the Hospital an Age Friendly hospital including programmes like the GEMs programme for the Admissions and Monitoring of our seniors at the point of entry right though their stay and treatment in the Community . He is the driving force behind the Patient Passport programme and the age friendly booklet Living today remembering Yesterday.
