November `17th a delegation from the French town Margny Les Compiegne of   Dany Hellal and councillor Stéphanie Schoreel Dauzat, The first port of call was the French Embassy where they were met by Marc Dumas and Other staff members including economic council.

Mayor Michael Doyle Meets Dany and Stephine

Next stop as the Irish Pub Diner where the group meet the Mayor of Kilkenny Michael Doyle where he welcomed them to Ireland and was hoping that in 2018 we can develop a network of community connections between both regions the Eastern Environs of Kilkenny City and County.

Now no trip to Kilkenny can go by without our visitors going to the Market Cross for a shopping spree and today was no exception when European Consultant Ania Adamowska and assistant General Manager  Louise Bourke showed our guest the stores of the city

Deputy Mayor Mr Patrick O’Neill who has been a friend of the Twilight group and he was instrumental when Mayor in 2016/17 he over saw the Municipally District council of Kilkenny’s input into the Twilight groups suggested twining between Malbork Poland and Kilkenny City. Patrick was a great guide and showed our visitors the city hall and our Charters and then on to the Medieval Mile Museum

It was then on for dinner and the signing of a friendship agreement to look into the possibility of a network of community activities based on agreed objective  using the twilight Protocols as guide lines The two ladies signed on behalf of Margny and Louise Bourke and Philip Brennan signed on behalf of the Twilight Group. The occasion  took place in the wonderful surroundings of the Orchard House who have been very good to the Twilight Group down through the years A big thank you to Sean, Amanda and John and staff.

Lets hope we can have a long term relationship once we have selected the projects we wish to proceed with. This was an excellent visit to Kilkenny by two wonderful ladies and the Members of the Twilight were excellent host helped by The Corner House in Bennetsbridge were the group when the party had an excellent top class lunch  after a morning in Woodstock gardens under a guide of the estate . Also the Orchard House Newpark both strong and vibrant businesses in the Eastern environs  while the Woodstock gardens is growing into one of the biggest tourist attractions in the region.

Thanks to everyone involved and look forward to working together in 2018.
