What an event the Polska Eire 2021 Kilkenny turned out to be! For the First time in its History the Festival went Virtual and beamed around the world on the The Twilight European Network Studio TEN
The Three day event kicked off with the world famous HIGH KINGS and our Partners National Youth Council of Ireland had two tremendous educational Programmes on Diversity and Climate Change.
Our great Friends and one of Irelands’ finest Polish Community groups , PL Gorey , Wexford brought the viewers down Memory lane with fantastic footage of Festivals from 2017 to 2019
In 2016 the national launch of the festival took place in Kilkenny and a hour long documentary brought the first days proceedings to a close
Day 2 was a morning of children, teenagers and young adult programming. We had a wonderful programme of the Polish School Polska Szkoła im. św. Jana Pawła II w Kilkenny with children of all ages talking to the viewers of the Polska eire festival. Students who have graduated or finishing their time with the school that continues to promote polish language and Heritage in our region told us the benefits of the school.
Our Supporters of the festival since Day 1 the Football Association of Ireland provided excellent coaching for all ages with their HOME SKILLS programme present by ex Internationals including Irish coaches Andy Reid and Keith Andrews
Day 2 concluded with One of Ireland’s leading, if not thee leading, traditional Group DANU with their Live concert for St Patrick’s Day celebration 2021
Then it was on to Day 3. And what a two part programme it turned out to be. Dominika Stroppa Held her third installment of creative wellbeing Then we had our Lunch time Rock Opera concert by our very good and close friends the Balbiny from Malbork Poland the twin city of Kilkenny since 2017. This Twinning is unique as it is built around the communities of both cities. The twinning of these two great cities is based on the Twilight Community Group’s Twinning Protocols written by the group’s current Chairperson Mr. Martin Brennan who established the Charity in 2014.
Every Festival must end with a bang! and what an enormous wall of sound the world renowned PICTURE THIS provided with their live performance from the 3 Arena Dublin Ireland. Picture This are the only Irish group to sell out this massive venue 5 nights in a row. As they continue to have sell out concerts across Europe, Scandinavia and the States who to say it wont be 7 nights when they return Christmas 2021.
And so the curtain came down on another successful year of the Polska Eire Festival Kilkenny. As one event comes to an end another begins. The International Communities Festival is the next quest for the Twilight European Network (TEN) Studio TEN. The Twilight community with their new Media Centre in their International Cultural House , Hebron Business Centre Kilkenny. Studio TEN will begin broadcasting Community based programming weekly over the upcoming Summer Months
